Nesting Red Mason Bee
After my last post about the Hairy-footed Flower bees in the garden, today I was delighted to spot a Red Mason bee - Osmia rufa taking up residence in an old drill-hole in one of the bricks! I'm encouraging the Passion Flower to climb up that section of wall, so that will hopefully provide some shelter once it gets going. I'll keep an eye out for when she's finished building her mud cell.
